11th Street Park Field of Dreams: Inclusive Baseball in Bayonne, New Jersey

At 11th Street Park in Bayonne, a special kind of baseball field is making a lasting impact on the community. Designed as a “Field of Dreams” for children with disabilities, this space ensures every child has the opportunity to experience the joy of the game in a safer, accessible, and welcoming environment.

To support both players and spectators, our team provided a series of thoughtfully designed shelter structures that enhance comfort, usability, and the overall game-day experience.

Shelter Solutions Built for Players and Fans

For the players, we installed two Dugout Shelters that provide essential protection over the team benches. These structures offer shade from the sun and shelter from unexpected weather, creating a more comfortable and supportive environment for athletes as they prepare, rest, and cheer on their teammates. These dugout shelters provide essential shade for baseball players, improving comfort and usability in this ADA-accessible park design.

For spectators, two Dugout Cantilever Shelters were added to cover the stadium seating areas. These cantilevered designs maximize shade coverage without obstructing sightlines, ensuring families and fans can enjoy every moment of the game while staying protected from the elements.

Near home plate, a Square Roof Mini Shelter was installed to cover the scorer’s table. This dedicated space allows scorekeepers to stay focused and protected, helping games run smoothly from start to finish.

A Design That Reflects Community Spirit

Each shelter features a bold blue frame paired with a bright red roof, a color combination that mirrors the Buddy Baseball logo. This cohesive design not only ties the entire field together visually but also reinforces the sense of pride and identity that makes this park so meaningful to the community.

Creating Spaces Where Everyone Can Play

Projects like the Field of Dreams at 11th Street Park highlight the importance of inclusive design in recreational spaces. By combining accessibility with durable, high-quality shelter solutions, this park stands as a place where children of all abilities can participate, connect, and create lasting memories.

At Superior Shelter, we are proud to support projects that go beyond functionality and help communities build spaces that truly make a difference.
