The shelter selected for the space is a 12' x 12' Gable End Mini Shelter, a compact yet highly functional design that complements the surrounding landscape and architecture of the homes within the community. Installed over a picnic table, the shelter creates a comfortable shaded retreat where residents can gather.
To coordinate with the desert-inspired aesthetic of Colina De Anza, the shelter features an Iced Coffee powder coated frame with a Hartford Green roof. The warm earth-tone frame blends naturally with the surrounding environment and nearby homes, while the green roof adds a subtle pop of color that reflects the natural beauty of the outdoor gathering space. Together, the color combination creates a timeless and welcoming appearance.
Beyond aesthetics, the Gable End Mini Shelter was selected for its long-lasting performance and practical design. The pitched roof provides effective protection from the Arizona sun while also allowing for excellent airflow underneath the structure. This makes the space more comfortable throughout the year, especially during Tucson's warmer months.
